Soul Project: Meditation Prayer

I came across this prayer I wrote almost two years ago in Baguio for our Creative Writing course. And because yesterday was Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, I decided to post this just to awaken a sense of spirituality and faith in these "challenging times" of my never-ending search for words and of my journey to the Self and beyond.

My Everlasting Flame

I am here now. I am here painting in Your canvass; mixing colors, shaping distorted thoughts, dipping my paint brush into water for new strokes. Lead me to the path that never ends, the road to nowhere where I can lose myself and find, little by little, the place where home is a state of mind, because I will be a nomad travelling barefooted, making the ground as my bed, the sky is the roof above my head and there will be no wall to hide me from the world, only windows to open myself to You.

I will set myself on fire to let my desires burn, to keep me warm in times when my heart gives in to the cold. My flames will reach the heavens. My flames will devour the sky. But only You can be the wind or the water that extinguishes the fire, and only You can let me

Burn Burn. Burn.

Atlantis

Submerge

These tears are like
Stinging saltwater in my eyes.
I wish to drown myself so as
Not to feel the pain of salt
Touched by wind and sun.

Open my eyes underwater
And breathe until I sink
In the ocean floor.

Abandoned.

Shipwrecked.

Dead.

No—

I never reached your shores.
The waves of your waters
Pushed me away.
Until I abandoned
Myself.

Atlantis—

Lost and forgotten
In sands of time—

Found me.

Hair, There and Everywhere

One afternoon in December, my hair decided to make "waves" in front of the camera. I love how it's so light and free that I could just run around without having to comb it. I never do.

I shall color it with the shades of the earth one day.
